Hi, thanks for coming to my blog. I am a photographer based in central New Jersey, specializing in portraiture, lifestyle and of course- weddings. Like most wedding photographer blogs, this will be a place to show some images from weddings and engagement sessions, as well as a source of general information on photography. Please leave comments, email feedback, recipes, favorite movies, whatever. Looking forward to hearing from you.
I Love making pictures.

Photographed Reagan a few weeks ago. This is actually our third session together. Wanted to post a couple of quick selects from the session.

I shot this photograph of Joe on my Toyo 4×5. I’ve spoken of my new affinity for both the process of shooting large format as well as the results. I’m really happy with the session. Whenever I photograph someone I quite honestly never know what the results will be. For many, the camera changes everything. Someone who may be fun and outgoing, becomes introverted and shy. And many times vice versa. I think we all see this machine as being sort of a soul stealer. It has the ability to capture something about us that we may not be ready for the world to see.
Before every photo session, I usually do a bit of research to get a mental image in my head of the end result. The picture that I would like to walk away with. This can be good or bad. The good is you’re a bit prepared and can give your subject some direction. You’re in control. The bad is that a) you may become too focused on the premeditated and fail to see something new unfolding before you b) your subject is not at all willing, able or conducive to your ideas. And the latter happens quite often. On those days you dig in and run with it. Explore a little and trust in your instincts and talents to pull you through and create something great.
I’m still working on what I truly value in photography and art. At it’s core, what is that thing that really hits home. I have an idea of what that is, and in my photographs I intend to push and pursue. I’m in no rush, I think the journey may be much more important than the destination.
Had a photo session with Sasha a while back. I like the juxtaposition of these two pictures. There is a sexy tension there.
